Bergtheater Thale (Thale Mountain Theatre)
On 8 July 1903 after only four months development the mountain theatre above Thale was inaugurated with a performance of the play “Walpurgis”. The theatre was based on the ancient amphitheatre model. It holds 1300 visitors and in a season between May and September will accommodate a total of 85000 visitors. If one wants one can take the suspension railway to the summit from where one can enjoy the extensive views over the flat plains beyond.
