Located in the historic Old Town of Quedlinburg is the holiday house ‘Alte Schule Quedlinburg’.

After reunification this half timbered house was purchased by an English architect, lovingly restored and made into three holidayflats on three levels.

The old Latin and Parish school in the World Heritage City of Quedlinburg is located in close proximity to the historic market place, which for at least seven centuries has been the centre of political and economic life of Quedlinburg.

The Old School House is right next to the ancient Market Church of St. Benedict. The school house was built under the direction of the church representatives in 1694, and here in this house the lives of many children were prepared.

It is a possibility that the great pedagogue Johann Christoph GuthsMuths, and Germany’s great poet laureate Friedrich Gottlieb Klopstock were taught here, along with Dorothea Erxleben, Germany’s first woman doctor. All were born in Quedlinburg.
